inaugural international conference aimed at bringing together academics,
researchers, scientists, industrialists and politicians and
practitioners. The conference will provide a platform to discuss recent
technical advancements and innovations in the profession of
Geoinformation and Communication Technology. It is an excellent
opportunity for the exchange of ideas and knowledge, and for discussing
future challenges in Natural Hazards and Disaster Management. Keynote
speakers will present the hot topics from the related fields. An
exhibition on site has been planned for industrial and educational
sectors to promote their activities. For more information see:

*Ph.D. Position at the University of Zurich*-The Remote Sensing
Laboratories at the Department of Geography, University of Zurich invite
applications for a Ph.D. position in the wider area of Earth
observation, to work on developing new approaches in quantitative,
global scale land surface process monitoring. In particular, the
position will focus on long-term vegetation trend analysis and their
coupling into process models for estimates of Net Primary Production
(NPP) and carbon cycling. The position will use experimental and
computational methods such as spatio-temporal modelling, and trend
analysis, amongst others. The Ph.D. will continue developing methods as
discussed in http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/j.1365-2486.2011.02578.x and
http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.rse.2010.10.011 . From: Deb Ranjan Sinha,
